Rembrandt DDH x CGF Ruella (Ridley)

14.1H | 2020 | Dark Bay | Westfalen NA

Sold - Congrats to Joanna and Jacob B!!!

Emma started under saddle in July 2024,   and is living up to our vision for this cross. She turns 5-years old in 2025 and presently measures 14.1 .  Our trainer describes her as an honest young horse, consistently the same horse every ride, showing herself to be fairly unflappable and capable of working both in the ring and on trails with a competent rider. She has progressed well in her training and ready to show Training level, with three clear and balanced gaits, but a particularly good canter.

She is at a busy training barn with lots of activity but has taken it all in stride. She has handled turnout with both mares and geldings with ease. She is in a stall during the day and has no stall vices, stands well for the farrier and is quiet in the cross-ties. She is easy to handle in hand, loves attention and really enjoys being around people.

Emma is naturally forward and responsive but is not overly sensitive. She shows good potential for dressage with  natural self-carriage and balance, with all paces being ground-covering yet rideable. In short, she is everything we hoped she would be and more when we made this match!

We had no intentions of ever offering this mare for sale, but circumstances have changed and we are now seeking the perfect partner to bring this talented girl along. She is suitable for a young rider or adult amateur in a program.

She is priced at $20,000 which will increase as her training progresses

Why we made this match: by Rembrandt DDH out of our homebred mare CGF Ruella. From conformation to movement and character, these two compliment each other in every way. Matching strength to strength while complementing areas of improvement, we adore both these ponies as individuals and know they will make an amazing foal. Both Remy and Ruella (Katie) are extremely people oriented and have the elusive ‘it’ factor - that sparkle that says ‘Look at me!’. Katie’s warmblood heritage will match well with Rembrandt’s Welsh B ancestry. We expect the type will be modern, refined but with good substance and of course, fantastic quality gaits and an unbeatable temperament!

About Rembrandt DDH: Possibly the most accomplished German riding pony stallion available to breeders in North America, Rembrandt DDH has proven his competitive abilities in both young pony competitions as well as the international ring and most recently as a sire.

As 3-time winner of the PAVO cup, Rembrandt exhibited his natural talent and versatility from a very young age. He went on to compete 5 times in the European FEI Dressage Championships with 3 different youth riders. We’re talking kids under the age of 21! Now in retirement, he is worked 4-5 days a week and hacked around the British countryside. His bold character, paired with an incredible work ethic have been consistently passed onto his get.

About CGF Ruella: Our homebred F1 German Riding pony, CGF Ruella, aka Katie, is by the Grand Prix dressage Hanoverian stallion Ridley (Rotspon). Katie’s mother, MKK Worth the Wait came to us unbroke with very little handling. As kids, we were able to get her going under saddle and showing her in local shows, then transitioning to dressage work. Her natural abilities came shining through, executing the lateral moves as if it was second nature. We paired her with a talented dressage sire and were fortunate to have Katie in 2013. Katie’s early under saddle work has shown promise and after weaning this foal, she will return to continue her under saddle education.
