We are pleased with this big, bay, healthy gelding, born on June 11, 2020. He is 100% imported GRP lines, with long, correct legs, a tight topline and a beautiful typey head. Very sweet in character and athletic in movement, he is already over pony height at 2 1/2 years of age. We call him Ollie, short for Oliver, and had planned to stand him as a stallion. Given his size we made the difficult decision to geld him and offer him for sale.
Why we made this match: From pedigree to type to quality of movement, this match ticks all the boxes on what a modern German Riding pony should be. Both parents have three excellent paces, wonderful toplines, modern type and the disposition that has made the German Riding pony world famous. While Catania is amazing herself, we expect Cocktailzauber will add a bit of length of neck, retain the ‘pretty’, and provide more activity to the hind leg while improving the canter.
About Cocktailzauber: (Buckskin) Champion of his stallion licensing in 2013, Cocktailzauber demonstrated aptitude for both dressage with his excellent movement, as well as a tidy jump. Well balanced and an uphill mover, he has produced well in both Germany and North America. Excellent genetics are reassured from Cocktailzauber's damline. St.Pr.St. Caprice, is the full sister to the successful dressage pony, Catwalk's Prima Ballerina, and she is half-sister to the licensed stallion Cappuccino (Costolany). Cocktailzauber's sire, Top Carlos Cassini (Classic Dancer I) was the 2009 champion of the Westphalian German Riding Pony licensing in Munster-Handorf and was honored as Premium stallion in the 2011 German Riding Federation national stallion show in Berlin.
About St. Pr. St. Wischoff’s Catania: (Black) Sired by the Dutch pony stallion Diamond, Catania is out of a daughter of the foundation stallion Brilliant. Designated as ‘States Premium’ (St. Pr. St.) prior to being imported to the USA, Catania has clearly earned that title. Every one of her foals has achieved ‘Premium’ status with her most recent two sons earning a solid 8.0 at their Westfalen NA inspections. Catania is incredibly correct in her limbs with good feet, an overall excellent balance and three correct gaits. She is very willing and sensible with an incredible people-orientation. It doesn’t hurt she’s gorgeous either. We count our blessings that we have her with us while on loan from her owners at Fox Creek Farm.
