Ridley

Rotspon x Walt Disney

The small but talented Hanoverian stallion Ridley was matched to MKK Worth the Wait with the intent to replicate  the 'Grannus' effect.  Referred to as 'the pony maker', Grannus was an instrumental Warmblood stallion in the development of the German Riding pony. Ridley appears to be following in his path, with several successful crosses on pony mares including our own CGF Ruella.

Ridley added substance, body, height, length of neck, some height to the neck set, length of stride and improvement in the trot. MKK Worth the Wait has a phenomenal hind end which was only complimented by Ridley. He added horse type, substance and maintained our mare’s very good character.  He crosses well on smaller pony mares.

Manchester City (Imported

The Breas My Mobility x Losander

Bred and born in Germany, the German Riding pony Manchester City stands 14.1 hands and embodies a modern pony type. Sired by the Welsh B stallion The Breas My Mobility, 'Chester' was a perfect match for a mare with longer coupling and with horse close up in the pedigree. His quality canter and strength through the loin connection is what inspired us to match him to CGF Ella. Where she has length, he is short; where he is refined, she has substance. The end result, CGF Mischief Managed, is a wonderful combination of both with quality beyond our aim!

Manchester City enhanced swing in the gaits, increased activity behind, increased loft and ability to lift the front end. Ella brought ground-cover to the gaits, improved the shoulder, passed on her sensibility and enhanced the hind end. Chester's pony good-looks and fun personality came through in Seamus as well. Chester is sadly now gelded and we only wish we could repeat this cross as it was so wonderful. We have bred to another son of his, Fox Creek’s Masterpiece.

Fox Creek's Masterpiece

Manchester City x Charivari (Sandro Hit)

Half-sibling to our own CGF Mischief Managed, the young and promising stallion Fox Creek's Masterpiece has all the makings of a successful sire and competitor. Bred in the USA, Masterpiece combines some of the best imported lines available in German Riding ponies. With his uphill build and round, lofty movement, he pairs well with St. Pr. St Catania to compliment her strengths.  W love their 2018 colt and the match was successfully repeated for 2019.

Masterpiece is going well under saddle with reports from his rider of his love of the work, showing he is sensitive yet sensible and forward but not at all hot. His conformation is near perfect, extremely correct and his movement is as well. He is an exciting option for North American breeders and we look forward to using him in our program again.
